Refloxology & Massage

About Me

My name is Alison Thomas and I live in Whimple, East Devon.

I am a qualified therapist with internationally recognised ITEC diplomas in Anatomy & Physiology, Reflexology, Holistic Massage and Diet & Nutrition. I am also a member of both the Complementary Therapists’ Association and the Association of Reflexologists.

Before training as a complementary therapist, I worked in industry for nearly 30 years. I have seen first-hand the effects that the stresses and strains of today’s hectic lifestyle can have on our physical and mental well-being

I am a firm believer in the benefits of complementary therapy as an integral part of our day-to-day lives. Our bodies have remarkable powers of healing but sometimes they need a helping hand. The combination of relaxation and stimulation induced by reflexology and/or massage can encourage the body to get back into balance.

What is Reflexology & How Might It Help?

The basis of reflexology is that your feet (and hands) are a map to your whole body. Specific points (reflexes) correspond to each of the major organs and other structures within the body

Working over the different areas, using gentle pressures of fingers and thumbs, helps to balance the energy flows within your body

The improved relaxation and increased circulation arising from reflexology treatment can be particularly beneficial for circulatory, digestive and respiratory problems. It can also be effective in the treatment of hormonal imbalance

Particular conditions that may benefit from regular treatments include:

Reflexology can also provide support for those experiencing problems associated with withdrawal from tobacco and alcoholic addictions.

. . . and massage. . ?

By combining a variety of different movements it is possible both to relax and / or stimulate the muscles, improve circulation and speed up the removal of toxins from the body.

Massage can have beneficial effects on both a physical and psychological level. It can:
